Assessment, Selection and Development

A perennial challenge for most large organisations is to recruit, develop and retain highly talented people. Organisations are also becoming more demanding in their expectations of the people they employ. In the past, for many companies recruitment has often taken the form of a series of interviews and perhaps the ad hoc use of psychometric tests to consider candidates “eligibility” for a position. Our selection and assessment centres are designed to look beyond the “eligibility” and to consider both the candidates “eligibility and suitability” or “total fit” within the role. Led by occupational psychologists and working closely with our clients’ HR teams, our assessment centres combine practical exercises, tools such as the PRISM model of human behaviour and structured benchmarking of high performers. This combined with the more traditional assessment methods, adds a completely new dimension to the recruitment process and thus reduce dramatically the chance of making the ‘wrong’ choice.

For example, a management assessment and selection process, based on a high performer’s benchmark, which we developed for a major High Street group dramatically, reduced that company’s staff wastage during the first year the process was in operation.
