Becoming an Inspirational leader
Inspirational Leadership is about emotion. It is about transforming people at the individual and team level by creating an emotional impact and then transforming identity. It is about replacing limiting beliefs with enabling ones, clarifying values, developing capability and then creating effective states both in organisational terms and on the individual level. Above all else, leadership is about people.
The leadership dilemma for the future is how to lead people to cope with a dramatically different environment. How do we lead in complex situations where issues are blurred and confused? How do we lead effectively when everyone is being pushed to their limits and is becoming more accountable for their actions? How do we lead effectively when every leadership action is subjected to more scrutiny?
This module, therefore, sets out to answer these and other significant leadership questions. It addresses the issues and attempts to provide a source of relevant ideas and practical methods for leaders to operate more effectively in these challenging times. It is about continual leadership development.
The leaders of tomorrow need help and guidance if they are to succeed in the future. The move towards empowerment, remoteness and reliance on technology contains a diversity of leadership challenges that have not been faced before. There is an acute need to provide the resources to facilitate the training and development of leaders at all levels.
