Making company values a way of life
In many ways, compiling rules by which the company would like to conduct itself and defining standards against which it can be viewed by its customers and create its reputation with the world at large, is the easy part. Getting its people to live by the values that enable that reputation is the challenge that many organisations leaders regularly fail to deliver.
Every contact or transaction with the outside world is a moment of truth which presents an opportunity to enhance the company’s reputation. Most of these opportunities fall to the most junior staff who look to their leader for guidance and direction, one who lives the values and acts as a role model.
This module equips the leader with a series of tools, ideas and skills to enable him/her to create the environment where a company’s values can thrive.
Typical content might include:-
- making your company values personal to you
- bringing the values to life
- defining exceptional/unacceptable behaviours
- creating your own team legislation for “raising the bar”
- gaining commitment to your values
- the requirements of a “role model”
- identifying and resolving blockers to performance
- the leader as a coach
- giving feedback
